  • Vieau School's Guns and Gangs Program
The six week Guns and Gangs Prevention program kicks off with a field trip to the Milwaukee Police Academy headquarters. About 60 fifth graders joined over 10 Milwaukee Police Officers in a fun-filled tour of the academy that included a presentation by the Police Academy trainees. The goal of the kick-off event is to get fifth graders and police to build relationships and trust with each other and of course have a good time too! The focus on fifth grade comes from the national statistic that the start of gang involvement usually begins around the age of 11 and 12.
