Notification Sessions
Notification Sessions are held monthly in both Districts Two and Five. The purpose of a Notification Session is to notify recently released offenders that violent crime cannot be tolerated in our neighborhoods, to welcome them back into our community, and to provide support for their successful reintegration.
Notification Sessions are held in a safe and respectful location in the community. Law enforcement, resource providers, faith-based leaders, and residents come together to demonstrate to recently released offenders that we are working together as a community to reduce violent crime. Facilitated by the community coordinators, Notification Sessions are set up using Restorative Justice practices in order to be able to clearly communicate a message and begin the steps toward repairing the harm inflicted by these formerly incarcerated individuals.
